Vestas has secured the first firm order for its V172-7.2MW onshore wind turbine.
It will supply six of the turbines to the 43MW Hoßkirch wind farm in Baden-Württemberg, southern Germany.
German developer Uhl Windkraft is developing the project alongside the Comital house of Koenigsegg-Aulendorf, historic landowners in the area.
Vestas will supply and commission the turbines, and then service them for 25 years after commissioning.
Turbine delivery is due to begin in the second quarter of 2025 ahead of project commissioning in the third quarter of 2025.
Vestas’ V172-7.2MW turbine is designed for low-to-medium-wind speeds.
