Seaway7, part of the Subsea7 Group, has secured a $50–150 million contract from PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna and Ørsted to transport and install substations for the Baltica 2 wind farm offshore Poland.
“Seaway7’s scope includes the transport and installation of four substations. Offshore activity is scheduled to take place in 2026 utilizing both our heavy lift and heavy transportation vessels”, the company said in a media release.
Baltica 2 is a 50-50 venture between PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna and Ørsted. The wind farm, with a capacity of around 1.5 gigawatts, will be located on the Polish side of the Baltic Sea around 24.8 miles (40 kilometers) from shore at its closest point, Seaway7 said.
“This is our second contract award in the emerging Polish market and we are pleased to be taking a role in developing offshore wind in this key location. With this project we also look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with Ørsted on our sixth offshore wind project together”, Maria Eidesvik, VP for Europe and the United States at Seaway7, said.
Earlier Subsea7 said it had secured a contract worth between $300 million and $0.5 billion from Woodside Energy. The company has been contracted to deliver subsea installation services for the Trion development some 111.8 miles from the Mexican coastline, at a water depth of 8,530 feet.
Subsea7 said that project management and engineering kicked off immediately from its offices in the U.S. and Mexico. Offshore activities are expected to take place between 2026 and 2027.
