Eolus submitted an application for the up to 1400MW Arkona , which is planned for a site 22km off Skåne county in southern Sweden. The 50-70 turbine project could deliver around 5.5TWh/year. Construction could start in 2028.
And Volvo and Eolus announced the signing of a letter of intent, regarding collaboration on the 1000MW Västvind project, which is planned for a site off Gothenburg. It could potentially supply Volvo’s operations at nearby Hisingen.
Onshore, Wpd secured grid connections for up to 740MW of capacity at the 740MW Broboberget-Lannaberget development.
Together, they could provide up to 1.5TWh/year, with the first phase of the grid connection scheduled to be commissioned by grid operator Ellevio in 2027.
Meanwhile, Arise announced the sale of its ready-to-build 105MW Fasikan project to SCA. The 15 Nordex turbines are expected to be commissioned in early 2026.
Vestas agreed to supply 18 of its V162-6.2 MW turbines in 6.4MW mode to the 115MW Ånglarna project. OX2 recently sold it to a European utility and construction is set to start, with commissioning planned for the end of 2026. Vestas will then provide service for 35 years.
Nuveen Infrastructure and Statkraft agreed an extension of the existing power purchase agreement for the 27.6MW Våsberget and 26MW Långmarken wind farms, with Nuveen having acquired the assets in January 2023.
And Eolus won an arbitration case linked to its 163.4MW Kråktorpet and 68.4MW Nylandsbergen wind farms. It had been in dispute with a contractor over responsibility for damages and delays during their construction.
