That announcement came the day after JinkoSolar revealed it was delivering a 15MWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) SunGiga C&I (commercial and industrial) energy storage system along with 5.7MW of its n-type panels to a company called Grand Works Inc in Japan.
It didn’t specify what Grand Works would be using the BESS for. Energy-Storage.news has reported on the Japanese market extensively this year after a pick-up in activity.
The BESS for Solarmate Engineering in Nigeria will improve efficiency at a local power station by reducing the need for emergency backup spinning reserves, therefore lowering fuel consumption, JinkoSolar said.
It comes a year after the PV module manufacturer signed a 50MW distribution agreement for its BESS solutions in Nigeria with local firm Palette Business Solutions, reported by Energy-Storage.news, although it didn’t say whether this latest order was through that partnership.
August saw it deliver a 1.1MWh BESS in Djibouti, on the East Coast of Africa.
JinkoSolar this week released a stock market update in which it said it shipped 52GW of PV modules in the first nine months of 2023, covered by our sister site PV Tech.
