Delfin Midstream Inc., through its unit Delfin LNG LLC, has agreed to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Gunvor Singapore Pte. Ltd., a Gunvor Group Ltd. company. Under the long-term sale and purchase agreement (SPA), Delfin LNG will deliver between 0.5 and one million tonnes of LNG per annum (MTPA).
According to a media release by Delfin LNG, the deliveries are on a free-on-board (FOB) basis at the Delfin Deepwater Port, located 40 nautical miles off the coast of Louisiana, for a minimum duration of 15 years.
“We continue to support US LNG projects and unlock new sources to meet the growing global LNG demand while further expanding our supply portfolio. We look forward to a successful, long-term relationship with the Delfin LNG team as their project continues to progress”, Kalpesh Patel, co-head of LNG trading at Gunvor, said.
“This latest sale and purchase agreement further demonstrates our attractiveness as a long-term source of scalable, reliable, and clean LNG”, Dudley Poston, CEO of Delfin, said.
The Delfin LNG Deepwater Port project can support four floating LNG (FLNG) vessels with a combined export capacity of up to 13.3 MTPA, according to the company. The company has secured commercial agreements for LNG sales and liquefaction services and is in the final phase toward FID on its first three FLNG vessels.
In August this year, Delfin signed a design and engineering contract with Wison Offshore & Marine to develop FLNG vessels for application on its Deepwater Port projects the company is developing in North America. The deal with Wison will accelerate the development of the remaining FLNG vessel slots at the Delfin LNG project. It will also allow the company to develop FLNG vessels for other projects in North America in cooperation with its existing midstream and financial partners, Delfin LNG said.
