Asia-Pacific markets opened lower, with Korean stocks posting a more than 2% drop after the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield hit its highest level in 16 years.
Korea’s Kospi fell 2.16% and the Kosdaq slipped 1.17% after coming back from holiday.
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 fell 0.42%.
In Japan, Nikkei 225 dropped 1.45% in its first hour of trade, while the Topix was 1.31% lower. South
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index is similarly poised for a dip with futures at 17,322 compared to the HSI’s close of 17,331.22.
